One of the fastest growing prominent Commercial Collection Agencies in the United States seeks a self-motivated problem solver to work in Brown & Joseph’s Litigation Department. You will oversee and navigate our client portfolios from initial litigation through post-judgment activity. Qualified candidates will have some knowledge of the civil litigation, legal forwarding and bankruptcy processes with 1-2 years working at a law firm or legal setting.  Desired candidates will have knowledge of the commercial collection process, however this is an administrative position.

Location: Brown & Joseph's corporate office in Itasca IL

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 an hour based on experience

Responsibilities:

  1. Communicate daily via e-mail and telephone with clients addressing accounts in the department
  2. Communicate daily via e-mail and telephone with various attorneys retained by Brown & Joseph to file suit on behalf of our clients
  3. Follow up regularly with attorneys to insure our clients lawsuits are handled properly
  4. Provide each client with a thorough review or their claim, reviewing collector notes, SOS, credit reports, fees associated with litigation, so they may make an informed decision whether to file suit
  5. Forward approved claims to outside counsel and negotiate rates as pre-approved by management
  6. Request and handle court costs between clients and attorney
  7. Follow up regularly with attorneys to insure our clients lawsuits are handled properly
  8. Assist clients with discovery responses and affidavits
  9. Prioritize daily work throughout the day to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  10. Ability to read and interpret documents {Invoices, Contract & Terms and Conditions for Insurance and Non-Insurance)
  11. Become thoroughly knowledgeable in the collection software and other software programs as required by client needs.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years in a law firm or collections setting
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent communication and written skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Prior client service experiences is a plus
